Wednesday Product Feature: Gree Dehumidifier Recall

Fire Damage1LARGE

Now is the time of year when most households switch from using the humidifier to the dehumidifier. The combined effect of the spring rains and winter ground thawing cause a spike in humidity levels in homes, specifically in basements. Gree, a major manufacturer of dehumidifiers issued a recall in 2013 for 13 major Brands of dehumidifiers, and re-released it again last summer. Brands include:

Danby/Premiere   Gree
De'Longhi/SuperClima   Kenmore
Fedders   Norpole
Fellini   Seabreeze
Frigidaire   SoleusAir

The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke and catch fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Models included in the recall could still be in your basement. We want to educate our customers on this potential hazard. If you have a dehumidifier please make sure to check that it is not included on this recall list. Please share this information with your family and friends.
